Hatsuuma Festival

09:30 - 16:00

This festival is held every year on the Sunday that falls just after January 18 of the Lunar New Year calendar, which is typically in late February. This festival features traditional events to inform South Kyushu of the arrival of Spring, as well as to pray for family safety, grain richness, etc. Horse rituals, traditional dances, drums, and shamisens are all elements of this colorful festival.
