Joya no Agetaimatsu (Torch-Hoisting Ritual)

This is an interesting festival that originated from the legend of Orochiman killer. It’s a brave fire festival that’s held late at night and revolves around the burning of a 15-meter torch. The tradition involves people playing the role of “felons” and beating the Great Torch, creating a spectacle of flames thats a truly magnificent sight.
