Kameido Tenjin Shrine Wisteria Festival

From to

Kameido Tenjin Shrine is considered one of the best places in Tokyo to see wisteria in bloom. There is a striking red bridge, several wisteria trellises, as well as a quiet pond, creating a beautiful scene of purple flowers reflected on the surface of the water. These wisteria vines were planted during the Edo period (1603-1867). It’s also believed that Tsunayoshi, the fifth Tokugawa military commander, and Yoshimune, the eighth Tokugawa commander, visited this shrine to see the wisteria here.
