This festival is held every year on the 14th day of the Chinese New Year calendar. In 2019, the Chinese New Year is February 5th, so this festival should take place on February 18, 2019. This is a traditional event originating from the time that the emperor visited Yoshino, and was welcomed by the the local people, who spent entire night drinking, singing, and dancing. The festival features an ancient dance performed by the house owner of the Shinto priest twelve houses.
