Nada Kenka Matsuri (Nada Fighting Festival)

From to

Every year at the famous Nada no Kenka Matsuri, also known as the Nada Fighting Festival, hundreds of men wearing loincloths gather at Mastubara Hachiman Shrine in Himeji City. They compete in groups by carrying giant wooden floats called “yatai” and slam them into each other to please the god of fighting. The yatai are then carried through the city in a lively parade.
