Nagatoro Funatama Festival

17:00 - 21:00

It is said that this festival originated when boatmen prayed for safety on the water, and enshrined the god of water. Approximately 1,000 lanterns are placed on the water and then flow down the Arakawa River, along with massive ships carrying entire towers of lanterns. At night, about 3,500 fireworks are launched from the opposite shore.
