Nakanoki no Tsujigiri

10:00 - 16:30

Tsuji cutting is a ceremony that prays for evil spirits and plague to stay out of the village. It is held by farmers in Nakano every year at the beginning of February. People gather at Yasaka Shrine and divide into two groups of east and west, each group making one snake. When completed, the serpents, which are about 5 meters long, are brought in front of the main hall, and placed in face to face. After the meeting, 4 or 5 people in each of the east and west groups will hold a serpent and wrap it around a stand by the southwest and northeast roads of the village.
