Namahage Sedo Festival

From to 18:00 - 20:30

This Namahage Sedo Festival was created to promote the tourism in Oga’s hot spring village during the winter season, and is held every year on the second Friday through Sunday in Feburary.  “Namahage” is a folk event that has long been known to Oga, and it is held in about 80 different villages throughout Oga City on New Year’s Eve. Namahage goes around each house once a year, gives an admonition against evil, exhorts disaster, gives a blessing and then leaves. Admission is 1,000 yen per person (Free entry for anyone under 18).
