Namba Yasaka Shrine Natsumatsuri (Summer Festival)

From to

This festival is held every year on July 13th and 14th. It is the grand summer festival of Namba Yasaka Shrine in Namba, Osaka. On the days of the festival, all of the Namba locals as well as non-locals and tourists gather to Namba to partake in the festivities. The main event is a lively parade where portable shrines called mikoshi and taiko drum floats are carried through Sennichimae, Dōtonbori, and Ebisusuji. Namba Yasaka Shrine is known for its massive lion’s head stage, so the festival also includes lion dances as well as a number of other kinds of performances.
