Okerasai Festival

An event that’s held on New Year featuring a priest praying for the upcoming year. The festival involves burning a fire of willow roots and gathering around the large bonfire. The locals celebrate the New Year by carrying home some of the bonfire’s flame, transferring it into a fire stove, and using the flame to make boiled noodles. It is said that if you eat the noodles cooked by the fire, you will have good health the upcoming year.
