Sanno Festival is one of the three biggest festivals in Japan. It is held in June on even-numbered years. Over the course of 11 days, there are many events held in this festival. Besides the rigorous rituals conveying the weight of history, there is a variety of events such as kagurabayashi (traditional theatrical shrine music and dance) and Sannō Taiko (Japanese drums). There are also traditional Japanese arts and folk dance competitions.
