This is a festival dedicated to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine. In a procession of portable mikoshi shrines, a queue of about 1000 people will carry a shrine from the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, cross the Yamato River, and carry it to Hosono Shomiya. Apart from that, other attractions include the Sumiyoshi dance performances, spectacular costumes, and traditional waka songs performed by Natsukoshi women and children.
