This festival is held every year on the last Saturday and Sunday of July. Along with the development of the automobile industry, many people from outside the prefecture came to work in Toyota City, and thus created this festival as a means of community interaction. It is known as being a festival open to anyone to participate in, and the main highlights include a group Obon Dance (on day 1) and a fireworks tournament (on day 2).
The great fireworks show on the final day of the festival features over 13,000 airborne shells, countless near-ground firings, traditional hand-held cannon Tezutsu fireworks, and a colossal “Niagara Falls” curtain of fireworks over 500 meters wide! Precisely coordinated to inspiring music, the show is a jaw-dropping spectacle of light and color that all visitors must see while in Aichi.
